The project Ursa Major Neo has been awarded in the Call CEF TRansport 2016 with the priority ITS. It represents the continuation of the Action "Ursa Major" and "Ursa Major 2", whose objective is to implement ITS services and to improve the freight transport along the corridors "Rhine-Alps" and "Scan-Med" of the TEN-T network. The project is coordinated by the Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur, with the participation of the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and of the Dutch Bundesministerium für Verkehr und digitale Infrastruktur, together with their implementing bodies, which are working of the development of innovative ITS solutions aimed at the improvement of the traffic management along the concerned corridors.
Compared to the previous actions, Ursa Major Neo widens the aim of the work both geographically and concettually. In fact, for the very first time, Italian ports participate to the project. They will develop ITS solutions so that to improve the intermodal traffic management in port areas and to connect road and railway infrastructure management.
Within the project Ursa Major neo, RAM is co-leader of the horizontal activity 1.4 – “Intermodal freight” whose project output is carrying out a study to examine the intermodal element of the Action.
