Last July the 1 st a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by RAM and the Escola Europea de Short Sea Shipping during the Conference “Italy between European Corridors and the Mediterranean” organized by RAM in the framework of the “Naples Shipping Week 2016”. With this Memorandum, RAM and the Escola, will collaborate and develop common initiatives in order to promote Short Sea Shipping and intermodal transport through innovative courses and projects.
The document ratifies the intention to develop a joint work program for the promotion of Motorways of the Sea with several activities like a joint participation in EU or international funded projects, mainly involving third countries in the Mediterranean area; the realization of courses to promote Short Sea Shipping and MOS between professionals and students; the realization of innovative training programs on logistics, maritime sector and transport.
An example of this collaboration is the course MOST Italy, organized by the Escola, that will take place from 17 to 20 September, on board of a Grimaldi Lines vessel on the crossing between Barcelona and Civitavecchia, with the aims to provide training on intermodal logistics, short sea-shipping services and motorways of the sea for transport, logistics and international business professionals.
